The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 adds two new colors: Cypress Gray and Riptide Blue Metallic. Work Trucks now feature a Universal Vehicle Module for public safety use. The model lineup includes Work Truck, Custom, LT, RST, Custom Trail Boss, LTZ, LT Trail Boss, and High Country trims. All models offer rear- or four-wheel drive, except for Trail Boss, which is exclusively four-wheel drive.

The 2025 Silverado 1500 offers a variety of engines, including a turbocharged four-cylinder, two V-8s, and a diesel. The 6.2-liter V-8 produces 420 horsepower, while the 5.3-liter generates 355 horsepower. The turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder delivers 310 horsepower, and the diesel produces 277 horsepower. The Silverado handles surprisingly well for a full-size truck, with responsive steering and brakes. For off-road enthusiasts, the Trail Boss model features a lift, rugged tires, and other upgrades. The ZR2 is the most capable off-roader in the Silverado lineup, and is more than capable when the road gets unruly!

    Towing, Payload Capacity, and Fuel Economy 
The Silverado 1500 has a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds, making it a powerful hauler. This exceeds the Ram 1500's maximum towing capacity by 550 pounds but falls short of the F-150's by 700 pounds. The 6.2-liter V-8 is required for the maximum towing capacity, but the 5.3-liter engine can still tow up to 11,500 pounds. Models with the turbocharged four-cylinder can tow up to 9,500 pounds. The Silverado's payload capacity ranges from 1,870 to 2,280 pounds, regardless of the engine choice.

The 2025 Silverado 1500 offers a range of engine options with varying fuel efficiency. The optional diesel is the most economical, with estimated fuel efficiency of up to 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. With four-wheel drive, the diesel's highway efficiency drops to 26 mpg. The gas-powered turbocharged four-cylinder with four-wheel drive is rated at up to 20 mpg city and 22 highway. The 5.3-liter V-8 with four-wheel drive is estimated to achieve up to 16 mpg city and 22 highway. In real-world testing, the 5.3-liter V-8 often outperformed the turbocharged four-cylinder in terms of fuel efficiency.     Interior & Comfort
The Silverado 1500 offers a wide range of trims to suit various needs and budgets. The base Work Truck model provides essential features, while higher trims, such as LT and High Country, offer more luxurious amenities like a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a large touchscreen, leather upholstery, and open-pore wood trim. While the crew cab provides ample rear-seat space, the cushions may not be as comfortable as some competitors, such as the higher-end Sierra models. The Silverado features practical storage options throughout the cabin. Although it doesn't offer a carbon-fiber-reinforced cargo bed like the Sierra, it now includes a multifunction tailgate called Multi-Flex. Additionally, the Silverado is available with various bed lengths to meet the needs of different customers.

The 2025 Silverado 1500 features a touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a mobile hotspot. The system is easy and intuitive to use, with both physical buttons and a touchscreen. The LT trim and higher offer a larger 13.4-inch touchscreen with additional features like a Google-powered voice assistant, wireless smartphone connectivity, and Amazon Alexa integration.
